About Ken

Ken and Linda have been married for twenty six years and have lived in Franklin for over six years.  One of the attractions of relocating to Franklin was Linda’s family ties and memories of growing up in such a great City.

Ken practiced orthopaedic surgery for over twenty-eight years and gained recognition on a state and national level as a leader in his profession.  He has served as president of the Tennessee Orthopaedic Society, The Tennessee Hand Society and the national group, The Clinical Orthopaedic Society. In 2005, he spent time teaching orthopaedic physician assistants in Bhutan and in 2006 he spent a month in Ethiopia teaching Ethiopian orthopaedic residents.  Ken continues to be involved on a state and national level in organized medicine with committee work that involves developing practice guidelines for physicians and advocacy efforts on the state level.

Ken Moore, MDOther civic activities involve the Franklin at Breakfast Rotary Club.  Ken serves on the Starfish International Committee which is involved with finding ways to provide potable water to citizens in Guatemala.  He has traveled there over the past two years reviewing potential projects and also looking for medical opportunities.  Ken’s hobbies include golf, travel, collecting and photography while Linda is a devoted animal lover.  They have five children and six grandchildren.

Linda’s community activities revolve around preservation efforts in the town she calls home.  She is currently VP of Events and Fundraising for the Heritage Foundation.  She has been active in saving the Franklin Theatre which was managed for many years by her uncle Herbert Bowen.

Linda and Ken both have been active members of Franklin First United Methodist Church where Ken is a frequent teacher in the Voyager Sunday School Class.  He currently serves on the Church Foundation Trust Committee.
